As with any major decision you must make it is important that the whole family unit make the decision concerning the ownership of a German Shepherd Dog. Once you and the family have agreed to extend their family to include a German Shepherd it is time to begin your search. Finding German Shepherd Puppies for sale is the easy part. Any person that has a female and allows her to have puppies can call themselves a breeder. Every Shepherd puppy you may be considering is because of a breeder. Make sure they are responsible breeders. Quality Shepherd breeders seldom will be found by searching the local newspaper. They also do not advertise the cost of purchasing a German Shepherd.

There Are Only Two Types Of German Shepherd Dog Breeders…….

1: Knowledgeable and Responsible
2: Unknowledgeable and Irresponsible

You should always stay away from the second type of breeder. Be sure to ask Questions! Questions! Questions!

They are in it for the betterment of the breed itself. This type of German Shepherd Dog breeder is always willing to stand behind their dogs with suitable health certificates and they will only breed two dogs after they have been medically tested for genetic health problems.

Puppies don’t come from an assembly line. Every litter from every breeder is different. It is the breeder’s skill, knowledge, and experience’s that has taught them how to select bloodlines and the parent dogs, that will help to improve and assure the German Shepherd Dog Puppy will remain true to its breed. The handling of the puppies until they reach the age of going off to their new homes will have the utmost importance in the way in which your puppy turns out.

Responsible, knowledgeable breeders of German Shepherd Dog Puppies can give other responsible, knowledgeable puppy breeders as references. They do not just give you the names of satisfied owners that may quite possibly know less than you do. Instead they offer you an opportunity to speak to previous customers that have purchased their German Shepherd Puppies from them and are willing to share their experiences, good and bad with you. Please consider your breeder carefully because any decision you make to purchase from them can encourage them to continue breeding poor quality German Shepherd Dogs.
